Dear Friends,
You might be glad to hear that just last Friday we had an end-of-the season party and award evening for our J24 class community at Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Since we took almost all major trophies for 2009 season here in Ontario and in Canada we would like to share with you our achievements of this exceptionally good for us year.

1. After a NOOD’s 3-day warm up regatta we took part in 2009 J24 World Championships (WC) in Annapolis, MD in the beginning of May, 2009. We took 41 spot out of 82 registered crews.  A decent place in the middle of the pack amongst the best sailors in the world including five former J/24 World Champions together with five North American champions; a four-time European champion, two South American and five US Midwinter Champions from 16 countries from all over the world. This was a beginning of the season for us after a long Canadian winter and we might say we were a little bit rusty.
The link below is to the 2009 J24 WC official web site. You can find there final results and other interesting info about regatta and Annapolis. On the Tim Wilkes’ picture strip the boat with bow #13 is our boat. Quite a good professional shot.
Next link is to the movie clip from race No. 5. In this race we were really at the top of the pack.
From that point things only got better and better for us.
2. We went on to win all four Ontario World Qualifiers for 2010 WC (1 st - 26 pts; 2 nd - 58 pts; 3 rd – 76 pts)

3. We won Ontario Series (whole season) -- (1 st - 46pts; 2 nd - 184pts; 3 rd - 193pts)

And the best for last:

5.  And again on Chesapeake Bay ( in the lions den beautiful Annapolis, MD), Ted Bartlewski and our crew on ‘Drivers Wanted’, representing ZAWISZA CZARNY YC and  Port Credit YC   finished second at the American J/24 East Coast Championship (ECC) held over the Halloween week-end. This is a really fantastic result.
Final results:
6. Wrapping up an outstanding season Ted Bartlewski was also awarded the 2009 George Cousins Memorial Trophy at his home club, the Port Credit Yacht Club; the trophy is awarded to the boat or person bringing the greatest honor to the Club during the season.
7.  I almost forgot to mention that we also won Ontario Fall Series Trophy conducted in October and November from our home club PCYC.
So, not a bad season after all.
Thank you to all of you for your support. You kept your fingers crossed for us really well this year. You can release them now and finally do something around the house.
