Mapy Morskie (Charts).
Wyczulem potrzebe aby czlonkowie naszego klubu mieli wolny dostep do map morskich.
Mapy papierowe sa piekne ale zywotnosc ich jest raczej krótka bo sa latwym podmiotem szybkiego niszczenia na w skutek elementów wody, notatek, zgniecenia itd.
Uzupelnienia nawigacyjne powoduja czesto przedawnienie map papierowych choc w pewnych akwenach nawet dosc stare mapy jeszcze sa dostatecznie aktualne.
Uzupelnienia Ksiegi Locji (Pilot Books) sa osiagalne poprzez internet z kazdego akwenu.
Aby wyeliminowac te trudne elementy kupna map papierowych które sa bardzo kosztowne a których mam osobiscie zaledwie kilka postanowilem sie zajac mapami elektronicznymi czyli takie które moze odczytac komputer a dokladniej program nawigacyjny.
Zalaczam skrypt typów map napisany w jezyku angielskim które nie wymagaja specjalnej licencji i sa kompletnie wolne od oplat.
Pomysl stworzenia banku z mapami wpadl mnie do glowy zupelnie nie przypadkowo bo Jerzy Kusmider z Vancouver sam sie dolozyl do tego. Jego zasluga miedzy innymi jest ze mam cale wybrzeze British Columbia i czesc wschodniego wybrzeza Kanady. Sa tez inni którzy w tym mnie pomogli i nie tylko Polacy.
Tak wiec prosze wszystkich czlonków klubu którzy maja jakie kolwiek mapy morskie elektroniczne o przekazywanie mnie ich i ja ocenie je czy sa wolne od licencji do uzytku klubowego.
Najbardziej brakujacych map w mojej bibliotece to sa mapy Georgian Bay, Lake Ontario i St. Lawrence, Kanadyjska edycja. Amerykanska edycja Kanady która mam jest bardzo orientacyjna.
Do tej pory mam format rasterowy BSB (.kap) cale USA poczawszy od Herschel Is. na NWP (Tadeusz i Gerus Natankowie wiedza gdzie to jest) poprzez Alaske, Bering Str. Aleutian Is. Gulf of Alaska, West Coast of B.C. California do San Diego po tym Gulf of Mexico, Florida, Cuba, kilka Leeward Is. Bahamas, cale wybrzeze wschodnie USA lacznie z Intercoastal Waterway az do St. Lawrence. Mapy amerykanskie ówniez zawieraja Hawaje, Samoa i inne posesje amerykanskie na Pacyfiku. Mam kilka map z okolic Cabot Str. i Belle Isle.
Mapy te zawieraja Hudson River do Erie Canal i caly Erie Canal do Lake Ontario. Jezioro Ontario i Georgian Bay w czesci Kanadyjskiej jest bardzo orientacyjne bo sa to mapy NOAA amerykanskie.
Równiez mam zachodnia czesc Baltyku od Szwecji do Polski, ciesniny Dunskie, Kattegat i Skagerrak i Niemiecka czesc morza Pólnocnego. Mam czesci Hiszpanii i Portugalii z Gibraltarem ale w bardzo prymitywnym czytelnym formacie.
W formacie cm93 mam caly swiat, sa to wektorowe mapy gdzie tekst mozna wylaczyc a o detale trzeba pytac w programie i tam jest wiele szczególów. Sa to bardziej dokladne mapy.
Zalaczam porównywalne przyklady map BSB i cm93 dla British Virgin Islands gdzie odbedzie sie nasz zlot ku czci Kpt. Wagnera w 2012 roku.
Wszystkie te mapy beda osiagalne tylko dla czlonków klubu za skromna oplata medialna (disk DVD $1,- + oplata pocztowa jesli wymagane).
Do uzywania tych map sa rekomendowane darmowe programy komputerowe Open CNP, Navigatrix, SeaClear itd. jak równiez licencjonowane programy jak: Nobeltec, MaxSea lub inne.
Do tej pory nie spotkalem aby jaki kolwiek Jacht Klub oferowal swoim czlonkom darmowe mapy morskie ale niestety wszytko jest kosztowne a przynajmniej moze bedziemy troche do "przodu".

Chart Formats
BSB / RNC / KAP Versions 1, 2 and 3 mainly published by NOAA.
(BSB Version 4 and later are encrypted and are proprietary charts.
Canadian Charts presently are BSB 4 formats and are encrypted.
NOS/GEO Version 1 Subsequent versions are probably supported but need to be tested. However, this format is obsolete for new charts.
CM93 Version 2.
(C-map Version 3 and later are not supported.)
S57/S52 (ENC).
S63 Encrypted ENC is the format for the majority of newly produced vector charts from many national hydrographic offices. S63 charts are exactly the same as S57 except the they are encrypted to keep them from being illegally distributed.)
Formats, that with some effort, can be used.
Generally chart pictures in gif, jpeg, pdf, png, tif, bmp and other formats can be used, when properly geo-referenced, to generate KAP file (BSB / RNC) that OpenCPN can display.
WCI charts generated with SeaClear and MapCal can also be transformed to BSB charts and used by OpenCPN. The key is to open a WCI chart in MapCal and convert it to a BMP picture, and then transform this picture to a tiff file, using for example ImageMagic.
OziExplorer charts consisting of picture in one of the standard formats, together with a georeferencing ".map" file, can be converted to a bsb kapfile. These Ozi formats are not documented and proprietary.
Before Maptech started to produce BSB charts the HDR format was used in the late eighties to mid nineties. These charts consists of many picture tiles in pcx format, more than 100 tiles is not unusual. The tiles can be merged to one picture and then used as any compatible chart.
The HDR format is from an era when computer-memory and processing power were less powerful than today, as a consequence these charts are not of the same quality as more modern charts. Furthermore, most of these charts are not using WGS84 as reference datum. These charts should not be the first choice, but can be useful if nothing else is available.
Other formats.
The Hydrographic Chart Raster Format (HCRF), used by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Offices' ARCS (Admiralty Raster Chart Service), Australian Hydrographic Services' Seafarer products and the NZMariner, New Zealands Official charts, are not supported. This is also due to proprietary encryption algorithms and copyright issues.
Mapmedia's various chart formats are not supported, for the same reasons as for the other proprietary charts
